Comparison of 2089 to Non-2089 Texts
The processes for creating the non-2089 texts were a lot different than for the 2089 texts. Firstly, the more creative writing was more enjoyable and fun for me. This was in part because of what I was creating and what it was about and part because it contained a lot less structure. Being able to just let ideas flow and be created was a lot simpler than having a structured process of research, analysis of that research, and discussion/presenting of that research.
A couple things were similar about all the processes, whether they be 2089 or non-2089 texts. One was that each text started with general ideas and concepts and developed into more well thought out final pieces along the way. All projects, whether they are an essay or a music video, start with a general idea and develop from there. For me that process was similar in that sense, and I really did a lot of narrowing down of my arguments and goals as the projects continued. Another thing that was similar was that each piece was created for a specific audience. This was what I used to help shape my texts and form them into the final product I desired.
Overall, I enjoy the creative texts a little bit more, but the one challenge of creative pieces in comparison to more structured class essays is that there is more that is left undefined. When doing structured essays, the expectations and end goals are clearly laid out (for the most part). When doing something purely creative, the end goal might be there, but the route and process are a little less defined, and this makes it a little more difficult for me to take each step towards the end goal. On the flip side, however, this less defined path allows me more freedom to enjoy and make my own way towards the end means.
